Touted as “America’s hypercar”, the fourth instalment of the Venom F5 nomenclature has been unveiled. This is all you need to know about the Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster and its ludicrous ICE powertrain!
Oh, how American muscle cars have grown. What were once overladen and clumsy V8 racers have become dialled-in, Euro-car hunting monsters. None fit this description as well as Hennessey’s F5, which returns with an open-top design and enough power to warp the horizon; codenamed the Venom F5 Revolution Roadster.

It’s a completely different beast than the coupe F5 we’ve come to know and lust over. This Roadster model’s removable roof is composed of a single-piece reinforced carbon fibre composite that the firm claims weighs 8 kg. Holding it in place are four quick-release bolts paired with “high-strength” latches. Further distinguishing features include new aerodynamic elements such as a new rear splitter overseen by an enormous rear wing, new dive panels on the front bumper, and a larger front splitter.
Below the metal is a retuned suspension system, which serves as the underpinnings mated to new multi-spoke wheels. The most notable adjustment to the F5’s looks is the addition of a centrally-mounted air scoop which feeds air directly to the engine bay. Speaking of the engine bay, it houses the same furious twin-turbo V8 powerplant as its older sibling. The flat-planned, cammed V8 produces more than 1 300 kW and 1 617 N.m!
Delving into the cabin, one is greeted with an over-indulgence of leather and exposed carbon fibre. Aligning with its fighter jet aspirations, the two-seater tarmac-terroriser is piloted via a yoke steering wheel. Leather-clad carbon bucket seats serve as one of the main characteristics of the interior alongside the fighter-jet style steering wheel.
Only twelve units are planned for production, and each is already accounted for. To add to an already ludicrous car is an equally ridiculous price tag of roughly R56 million! That’s as much as a base-spec Bugatti Chiron!

If you had a little over R50 million burning a hole in your pocket and there was one unit left, would you put your hand up for one of these modern-day American roadsters?
