Veejay Nakra, President – Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. stated, “Vision Thar.e is a testament to innovation and a pioneering design philosophy that is uniquely Mahindra and distinctively global. Thar.e caters to the adventurer in all of us, craving exploration without compromise. Aligned with the global movement towards responsible consumption, our focus on sustainable materials resonates with the broader shift towards being planet positive, ensuring that Thar.e is both timeless and timely.”
The Chief Design Officer behind the Vision.e; Pratap Bose, has added that the goal was to bring to life a bold and innovative model while maintaining off-road capability. Some key takeaways from the aesthetic include geometric surfaces that embody the robust ‘explore the impossible’ ethos. The interior is a blend of minimalism and functionality while the Thar.e boasts sustainable composition with fabrics made of 50% recycled PET.
In terms of the conventionally powered ICE Thar, Mahindra has interestingly confirmed it will not be launching outside of its home market which means it won’t contend against the stalwarts locally. The Thar.e however will potentially come to South Africa – perks of being Mahindra’s largest passenger car market outside of India.
